Get your eat on with MacGourmet
I've used Yum! since it first appeared for OSX a few years ago. Perhaps because it was based on a HyperCard stack, or maybe because it was free. Probably because I had entered tasty recipes into the OS 9 edition of MasterCook and wanted to bring them in. And since MasterCook no longer supports the Mac...
But now there is a new king. MacGourmet, from Advenio, is like Delicious Library for recipes (jeez, think we can pimp Delicious any more?). Built with all the panache you'd expect from a Mac-only developer— including Spotlight support in the latest version.
MacGourmet works a lot like iTunes in recipe management, giving you "playlists" to organize and rate your recipes. You can publish your recipes to a .Mac account (don't divulge any family secrets though), and the companion website features new recipes that you just drag-and-drop into the app (off your browser). My favorite feature is the Chef View, where your recipes appear in large-print form on your screen. Perfect for keeping the iBook in the kitchen while you cook. Just wrap it up first, OK?

I have bought MacGourmet several months ago, as a way for my wife to maintain all those beautiful recipes she indulges me in. It is an excellent program all around and we 're very pleased with it. Especially useful is the embedded wine list (I am surprised it's not mentioned in your review) - which we use extensively, as we are newborn wineholics :P All that's missing now is a handy fancy widget to impress our friends with the instant appearance of Mousakas!

Excellent program! The chef's view is WONDERFUL since it means I can keep the laptop OFF the counter where I'm working, yet glance over and read the recipe clearly. "Clipping" recipes from websites is simple and painless.
My biggest gripe with the program (and the developer says he's working on it) is that you have to go through several steps to keep more than one copy of MacGourmet synchronized (the license allows you to have two copies on different machines).
I often surf my my G5 and find recipes, and would like a "one click" method of updating MacGourmet on the PowerBook since that's easier to find a safe spot for in the kitchen!
